Message from General Manager

 

Cyprus Turkish Cooperative Central Bank, which is the product of a century-old coperative culture in our country, has the proud of celebrating its 50th anniversary.

 

Having 587,394 Cyprus Liras of equity capital 49 years ago, Cooperative Central Bank has now become the biggest financial institution in our country through correct strategies and management policies. In the light of the works conducted in line with cooperative principles, values and ethics, as of 31 December 2008, the asset size was raised to 1,74 billion TL (1,16 billion US $), and the equity capital was raised to 138 million TL (92 million US $).

 

Our bank has around 200 member cooperative institutions and 14 branches which carry out the activities throughout the country and render service to people in almost all residential areas. Our bank has expanded its service network with Akdoğan and Ortaköy branches which were opened in 2008 and plans to put 3 new branches into service in 2009.

 

This comprehensive cooperative network all around the country continues to provide the best service to every region, every individual and every economic sector. The number of customers in the portfolio of Cooperative Central Bank, whose aim is to ensure the satisfaction of customers, has reached 150.000. When we consider the total country population, this number can be percieved as the indicator of the confidence entrusted in our bank.

 

Since its inception, our bank has been in competition with foreign banks and learnt to survive along with those foreign banks and adjusted itself accordingly; our bank has also managed to sustain its competitiveness in the face of the current globalisation trend. In parallel to this, our bank continues its activities towards investing in technological infrastructure, broadening the spectrum of services and improving its quality continuously. Furthermore, it has also enlarged its ATM network where people can deposit money, and the current number of ATMs, which is 14, will soon be increased to 20. It also has the appreciation of the customers with Call Center and Online banking services, while diversifying the functions of these services day by day.

 

“Optimum” credit card service, which combines the advantages of shopping in installments, getting an advance and collecting points, has been sustained with great success. The validity of the card all around the world and its recognition as a trade mark have been ensured. In order to sustain the prestigious position of our credit card, we have been continuing our investments and activities.

 

Coperative  Central Bank, which has always taken the social responsibility into consideration since its foundation, continues its contributions in education, health care and sports activities with this perception. The basketball teams in our Koopspor Club are combatting in a sportsmanlike manner and their championships both in the league and in the tournaments are closely followed by sports fans with appreciation.

 

The esteem that was earned by our bank in 49 years is the consequence of the devoted works of our personnel. With all its personnel, with the institutional awareness, and with the objective of increasing the quality of its services day by day as Cyprus Turkish Cooperative Central Bank, we will carry on our efforts in order to sustain the confidence entrusted in our bank and to carry our bank forward by our activities.
